the pre-k students performing a song
What a day to start off the first day of summer. Not only was the weather fit for a hot summer day but it was also little V’s last day of school. I am amazed that we have come to the end of her very first year of school. It was not that long ago that I was cradling this little bundle of life in my arms, breathing in her sweet scent of newness and marveling at how breathtaking this daughter of mine was. In the blink of an eye she has grown into such a precious little girl. She is silly and sweet, a mixture of one full of energy and excitement over the little things but also tender at heart.
Gram came to little V’s moving up ceremony and brought her a rose!
giving Ms. Gedeon a goodbye kiss
I remember when she began school back in September. I was in awe that we were at a point in her life where there was school. I remember her daily requests to stay home from school; the big transition to be away from home (and hopefully mom) every day seemed a bit much for such a tiny one. Almost 10 months later she has turned into a lover of all things school related. I hope to foster this love of learning throughout the many years ahead. (Hello, we have like 13 more years to go and that’s not even counting college!)
some friends from school
So this afternoon little V “moved up” from pre-k to the big K (as I like to call it). She is a full-blown kindergartener!! There were many songs sung, plenty of pictures and video, awards and hot, sweaty parents. V received a “best friends” award for being good friends with another classmate (Bryan, there are some cute stories there) as well as an award for “Biggest Improvement”. I have no doubt that V gave it her all.
Little V, you fill my heart with so much joy. I am so thankful and honored to be your mother. I look forward to all the years ahead, but let’s just take it one day at a time. I’m not ready to let you go yet!
Congrats, Little V! We are proud of you! 🙂
