the first ever giveaway winner

So I know you have been sitting on pins and needles all day waiting to find out who won!  So maybe not but non the less, I want to thank everyone who participated!  I so enjoyed reading all your answers of where you would go.  They varied so much from visiting friends & family to visiting far off countries and taking that time to serve others in need.  I so loved it and am thankful for everyone that responded!!

I thought I’d share real quick my answer to the question.  I actually went around the house and asked each {speaking} member of my little family where they would go.  The huzband replied that if he could hop on a plane right now and go anywhere, he would go to Europe to explore.  He has never been to Europe.  I asked little V where she would go and her response was so very sweet to my heart.  She said she would go to where daddy just went, Rwanda, and meet all the people he got to meet!  (Seriously kid, could you be any cuter!)  For me?  It’s actually a hard question because there are so many places I want to go and any given season, my answer will change.  This season now, my answer would be very similar to what one of my friends answered.  It has been on my bucket list for quite a long time now to visit a refugee camp in east Africa.  Unlike Ty, I do not have one in specific (I would probably ask him for a suggestion), however I know I want to go somewhere to serve, to be awakened, to not just read about but see the reality of so many peoples lives right now.  I know I would learn so much, be stretched but most importantly, I know I would be so very near the heartbeat of God.

I want to give a special shout out to my sister-in-law who shared about the giveaway on her blog (one of my favorite blogs ever) and to an old classmate of mine, Jen, who tweeted about the giveaway to all her followers (she has a big following on her blog which is focused on reading).

So without further ado, I give you Green Door Project’s first ever giveaway winner….

Yes, you have to watch the video.  If I put myself in front of the camera (which is rare), you best believe you are gonna have to watch me in all my pain!

  1. Congrats to the winner & what a cutie your daughter is! Thank you so much for the shout out. It was my pleasure. Also, thank you so much for turning me on to Light Gives Heat & Suubi. I’m trying to teach my daughter to be philanthropic & as soon as she saw my necklace she wanted something of her own from Africa (her best friend is South African). So she took her little bank out & gave me $14 to get a pair of earrings! They came yesterday & neither of us seem able to take off our Suubi jewelry or stop telling people about them. 🙂 Thanks, Rachel!

    1. Hey, I’m so glad I could point one person towards them. I love that your daughter bought her own pair of earrings and that both of you are spreading the word!! =)
