Thankfulness : Day 4
My feet hurt, my legs are sore and my head is thumping however, I don’t seem to mind any of it. Or perhaps it is all worth it.
Today was a busy day preparing for this evenings dinner. You see, this weekend is the prestigious NYC Marathon and tonight was the team dinner for the runners of Team World Vision. It was a night to load up on carbs, honor these runners, thank them for all their hard work in helping others and above all, to remember the cause. To remember why this eclectic group of people have come together for this one race. To remember why they have put in months of training, hours upon hours of running, sweat, pain and possibly even a few tears. To remember that all they have done is to bring health, water, food and life to children around the world!
So today, my heart is overflowing with thankfulness. I am thankful for these 40 runners, these 40 people who took time out of their life to find a child a sponsor; to really find a child a home. I am thankful for these people who are walking reminders of love in action. They are truly changing the world one child at a time!
I am thankful for each one of these faces, these compassionate, caring, brave faces that are waking up Sunday morning to go run 26.2 miles for children in need! It was my honor to serve you all tonight, to celebrate with you and I can not wait to cheer you on Sunday! You are all rock stars whom I am extremely grateful to know!
