book train

I am such a big fan of snail mail.  There is something so exhilarating about reaching into the mail box and pulling out a letter, or even better, a package addressed with your name on it.  This such occasion occurred this week when I received this in the mail.

Through my sister-in-law, and her blog Bananas and Bees, I began reading Little Things Are Big by Maria.  Maria is a wife, mom, art historian, artist, crafter and vegan (among other things).  I enjoy reading her blog because it’s a different perspective truly making little things beautiful.  That and she has such a wonderful fashion sense.  I’d love to have her come dress me one day!

Back to the book.  A little while back she was having a giveaway on her blog for this book.  I obviously did not win however after the giveaway, she proposed a book train.  She was willing to share her copy of the book with whomever wanted to read it.  She’s thoughtful like that!  Well, guess who was first on the book train?  Yup, me.  I’m so very excited to get started!

No, I am not a vegan in case you were wondering.  The huzband and I do not consume very much meat.  However, I have been leaning in a healthier direction towards food.  Sometimes knowing how to eat healthy can seem overwhelming, so whenever  I can learn more, I want to.  From the description of the book, it is about making a gradual move towards a whole foods, plant-based diet.  I did notice that author did not lean towards the lifestyle of a veganist till she was in her 30’s.  (I’m 31 right now.  Just saying!)  As Promise 3 states above, I’ll do what it takes to help my family live a healthy, longer life!  You can never go wrong with learning more and I intend to do just that.  Besides all that, there is just something fun being a part of a book train.

she even left a note!!

Thanks Maria for sharing!!  I am ready and excited to go start reading!!
