So my first week of triathlon training ended Sunday. This is what week 1 held for me (the numbers stand for minutes):
M : 12 swim / 24 bike
W : 20 swim
Th : 12 run
F : 40 bike
Sun : 20 run
Overall, it was a good week. I would say of all three sports (swimming, biking running), swimming is by far my favorite.
For my Thursday run, I took my very first run around my new neighborhood. It’s a quiet area and I enjoyed being able to say hello to a few new neighbors. On Friday I did something completely un-me. I got up for a 6 am spin class. Did you hear me? 6 AM!!! There is no other way that I will sit on a bike for 40 minutes; it just hurts my butt way too much! I was tired the rest of the day but it was worth it. I enjoyed the spin class however I am rethinking the 6 am time! There are other classes…
Finally, my Sunday run. Well, to be honest, that one didn’t happen. Sunday was just a busy day for me and I (secretly) just ignored the run. I will have to do better this week in making sure I *completely* stick to the training. Honestly, I felt the lack of the run come my Monday swim. Normally I can jump in and start my laps right away, however it took a few laps for me to really get into a regular breathing pattern. I do not like that at all. Lesson learned.
Now on to week 2. August 28th seems so far off. Yet, I know it will be here in a blink of an eye.
I leave you with a bit of joy and daily inspiration:
What a beauty! Great shot of V. And good thumbs up for you! That’s a tough schedule to keep up with!
